It doesn’t feel like we’ve entered August, and the iPhone 15 Pro will be released in a month. A series of the latest leaks have appeared, get ready to make you nervous because you can’t wait for them.
Thin Bezels
According to a report by Mark Gurman on Bloomberg, the iPhone 15 Pro model is expected to feature thinner bezels than its predecessors. This improvement is made possible by a new production technology called ‘low-injection pressure over-molding’ (LIPO).
The bezels around the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max screens are expected to be reduced to around 1.5mm from the current 2.2mm. LIPO was previously used on the Apple Watch Series 7 and will likely be adopted on the upcoming iPad.
Titanium frame
In an effort to reduce weight, Apple may replace the stainless steel frame on the iPhone 15 Pro models with a lighter but more expensive titanium frame.
But this change might result in increased prices in international markets, and even some pro models in the US.
Dynamic Island
All four iPhone 15 models are expected to adopt Dynamic Island. That means the unsightly notch is ending its history on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
Speeding Chips
The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with the A17 chip which is made with a 3 nanometer fabrication. This makes it noticeably faster compared to the A16 chip found in the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Big Memory
According to research firm TrendForce, the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with up to 8GB of RAM. However, the regular versions (iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus) will still be equipped with 6GB of RAM. With additional RAM, various applications such as Safari will be able to save more active content to run in the background system.
Periscope Telephoto Camera
One of the superior features of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is its rear camera which is equipped with a periscope telephoto lens. This feature allows the camera to support optical image magnification of up to 6x, an increase from the iPhone 14 Pro which offers 3x optical zoom.
Apart from that, the main camera for the iPhone 15 Pro Max will also be equipped with a Sony IMX903 sensor with a resolution of 48 MP which measures around 1/1.14 inch. This larger sensor size will allow the camera to capture more light, resulting in better image quality, especially when shooting in low-light environments.
Another leak reveals that there is a camera feature with a hybrid lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This feature is claimed to be able to combine two different lenses in one camera module, namely wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses. As a result, the camera can produce images with better colors.
USB Type C
Previous reports indicated that the entire iPhone 15 lineup will switch to a USB-C port that supports USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3. That way, these phones will have faster data transfer and charging speeds than the Lightning port used on previous models.
