Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Egyptian artist Fifi Abdo said that her post on Instagram, which seemed to defend the artist Sherine Abdel Wahhab, before she deleted it later, was not intended to attack the Saudi artist, Mohamed Abdo.
During the last hours, an image of a post was circulated through the short stories feature on Instagram, which was attributed to Fifi Abdo’s account. The post included a video clip taken from the TikTok application, in which Sherine sang, while a phrase attacking the artist Mohamed Abdo was written on the video, after criticism attributed to him against Sherine.
In her new post on Instagram, Fifi Abdo said: “First, the Arab artist, the great artist Mohamed Abdo, is one of the people I love and respect very much. I just liked the song.”
And she added: “If I had read the speech, I certainly would not have downloaded it, and when my daughter opened the story and saw it, she removed it immediately, and this is a shame that I did not complete my studies and did not read the speech.”
She concluded her comment, saying: “I cry with all the love and appreciation for the great artist, Muhammad Abdo, and there is no need for propaganda from the media. It is certainly clear that it is not intended.”
