Fall in Revenues: Saras Reports 30% Decline in Profits for First Half of 2022

Fall in revenues for Massimo Moratti’s Saras which closed the first half of the year with profits of 5.43 billion euros, down 30% compared to the same period of 2022. The result “is mainly attributable to the significant depreciation of the main petroleum products and the reduction of the sale price of electricity”, reads the note.

“The satisfactory results achieved by the group in the first half of the year – reads another excerpt from the press release – reflect a positive oil scenario, with diesel and petrol refining margins above historical levels, albeit partially rebalanced with respect to record levels reached in 2022, and a second quarter which saw the conclusion of the ten-year turnaround of the IGCC electricity generation plant, which will allow us to continuously guarantee the supply of energy and contribute substantially to the stability of the electricity grid in Sardinia Having concluded the main maintenance planned in the first half, we will be able to seize the opportunities of a market that looks positive in the second half of the year. We also highlight how, despite the important disbursements in the second quarter, even in the face of the payment of taxes on extra profits and dividends, the first half of the year ended with a positive net financial position”.
