The new line will operate every working day from Monday to Friday and will have ten daily services in each direction, from 7:05 a.m. to 9:15 p.m., as reported by the Community of Madrid in a statement echoed by Europa Press. Likewise, this link will unite the residential developments of Nuevo Tres Cantos and Madrid Content City Netflix, Secuoya and Campus Universitario UNIE.
Line 717, with entrance and exit from the new Tres Cantos, will run in both directions from Avenida de Juan Pablo II, Avda. 21 de Marzo, Avda. Gran Vía de Tres Cantos, Avda. San Isidro Labrador, Avda. from Madrid, Avda. de los Actores, to exit at the M-607 via Avda. de los Montes, stopping at El Goloso, crossroads of the Autonomous University, Cantoblanco Hospital, San Fernando College, Ramón y Cajal Hospital, Hospital La Paz and reach the Plaza de Castilla interchange in 40 minutes. This has been indicated by the Tricantino City Council.
According to the regional government, its authorization responds to one of the great demands of the residents of this area who will save time on their journeys by no longer having to make the entire urban route to make their journeys to Madrid. The Regional Transport Consortium, dependent on the Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures, fully finances this route, the cost of which will exceed 350,000 euros each year.
In addition, the connection is expected to reach the same levels of supply and demand as the rest of the interurban services that connect Tres Cantos with the capital. This 717 line is added to the five already existing in this town of 50,000 inhabitants, 712, 713, 716, 827, and N701, operated by the companies Alsa Metropolitana and Doroteo Casado Montes.
To these must be added, the 723, which covers the route between Tres Cantos and Colmenar Viejo, offered by the company Herederos de J. Colmenarejo; and the urban ones, L1, L2, L3, L4, also from Alsa. Last year, the Tres Cantos bus fleet as a whole covered more than four million kilometers, of which 351,350 corresponded to urban lines and the rest, 3,731,382, to interurban ones. It is also estimated that with the entry into service of the 717, the annual kilometers will increase by more than 122,000.
