Fuel prices are going up, but not headlong. As of August 1, there will be an increase in the price of propane-butane, because the parliament abolished the zero VAT rate. The increase will be within 20-22 cents per liter including VAT. The increase in the price of oil internationally affects the overall increase in fuel prices.
Svetoslav Benchev from the Bulgarian Gas and Oil Association told Nova TV.
According to him, the increase in fuel prices is overdue. “It is due to the rise in the prices of finished products, planned repairs in the refineries coincided with unforeseen problems. This has raised the prices of gasoline and diesel, and the market is very stressed. Increased consumption in China also determines the growth. We expect between 5 and 7% of the products,” he stated.
According to him, it is not known how the concession of “Rosenets” will affect the prices, but it will be difficult to manage without a refinery with supplies. “We don’t have the necessary number of wagons or tankers, nor is there an abundance of fuel. In Romania and Greece, the production prices of fuel are 20 cents higher than those of Lukoil, not including the delivery price,” Benchev explained.
