At the beginning of July, players from among the supporters of the project on Startovaci were the first to get a taste of online multiplayer in the new Bulánky. Meanwhile, the developers from the SleepTeam studio were preparing to launch the version for all players, which will take the development and the game itself in early access to the next and probably the most anticipated phase. This will happen on August 1, i.e. less than a month after the launch of the test operation for supporters, but at the same time it is not the only news. In addition, Bulánci will be available for free download from September.
“Already at the beginning of August, the long-awaited online multiplayer will come to the game, which will allow players to enjoy an addictive party game with friends from all over the world in endless pillow battles,” entice the authors, specifying that three game modes will be available to players. In addition to the classic deathmatch, entire teams will also be able to compete in the Team Deathmatch mode, or try to capture the guarded flag in the Capture the Flag mode. During August, multiplayer will also be enriched with detailed global statistics that will allow you to compare your combat abilities not only on the battlefield, but also across tables and rankings. However, SleepTeam promises that they are preparing a lot of new content in the coming months, which they also inform about in their development roadmap and on your website, and other things. “One of them will be the release of the basic version of the game on Steam for all players for free,” said head of development Jan Zmeškal.

The developers have decided to make the new Bulánky available for free in a limited version, following the example of the original game, with the fact that, if interested, players will be able to purchase additional content. “From September 1, everyone can download Bulánky on Steam for free and enjoy multiplayer with friends from all over the world. If you are interested in additional bonus content, you will be able to purchase it additionally,” the developers inform in the news. At the same time, they assure that even those who supported or already purchased Bulánky will not come: “If you are already the owner of the version purchased on Steam, you will get all the bonuses that will be released in Bulánky from September 1, completely free of charge from us. And there certainly won’t be enough of them! We appreciate your support and believe that we will appreciate it properly.” Supporters from the Starter can then look forward to a special Bulan skin in addition to the guarantee of other bonuses. “They will also have exclusive access to unreleased content and lots of other benefits. In addition, they have already received Steam keys for already released packages from us in their e-mail boxes,” Zmeškal added.
What will each version offer?
As we can see in the clear list on the website, the free version of Bulánki will include the online multiplayer itself and the already mentioned game modes, which will be supplemented in the future by, for example, Prison Break, and three maps from the original game – Fairy Tale, Factory and Disco – and the brand new Pokojíček. The arsenal of weapons includes the well-known five in the form of a pistol with a silencer, a machine gun, a shotgun, a rocket launcher and mines. It will also include a piece of Bulan’s history, which will offer seven scenes and five videos in the basic version. This will complement the already mentioned statistics and rankings. In any case, even the basic form of the game will see improvements and novelties, among which there will be, for example, elite training, training and new weapons. “The basic version of the game will be full-fledged, and you do not need additional content to eliminate opponents. If you want to expand Bulánky with new environments, a brutal mode, a campaign or even an editor, you will have the opportunity to purchase an additional package – for roughly the price of one coffee,” the developers explain below the listing. At the same time, they added to the questions on Discord that the game does not and will not contain microtransactions.
Backers and existing owners of the game, or those who purchase it before August 31st, can then look forward to a hero factory where they can customize their bun, a map pack with battle arenas for deathmatch and fight for the flag, a map editor, a brutal bunny or blood disposal mode. An interesting addition will also be the Ice Landscape, Space Station, Battleground and Maze environments, where it will not be just any ordinary shootout. The story campaign is also an integral part. “Of course, that doesn’t have to be all.
