Running back and free agent Dalvin Cook visited New York Jets training camp on Sunday as all signs point to his signing by the club, which has high expectations for the 2023 season.
The 27-year-old running back, formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, performed physical tests in the morning before chatting with coaches and players as the Jets practiced on the field.
Cook was selected to play in the Pro Bowl four times during his six-year stint with the Vikes, who released him in June.
In 17 games on the 2022 schedule, Cook has rushed for 1,173 yards with eight touchdowns. He added 295 receiving yards, as well as two majors.
For his entire career, the 41st overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft has rushed for 5,993 yards and 47 touchdowns.
The Florida State University product has appeared in three playoff games since joining the NFL.
If he ends up in the Jets’ green and white jersey, he will join an offensive unit that New Yorkers want to see hatch, under the leadership of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
