Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Elon Musk is doing rebranding the name of Twitter’s social media along with its logo became X. In an effort to change the logo on one of his office buildings, X received complaints from the city government of San Francisco, United States.
The City Government of San Francisco opened a complaint and launched an investigation into a giant X sign posted on a building downtown. The building is the former headquarters of Twitter which is currently owned by Elon Musk.
The X logo appeared last Friday (27/7/2023), even though it was stopped by the police because it was not installed properly and therefore could endanger pedestrians. Local officials said that when changing the logo on a building, the company needed a permit for design and safety reasons.
“Any replacement letter or symbol requires a permit to ensure the consistency of the historic properties of the building,” said a spokesman for the Department of Building Inspection, also ensuring the addition was securely installed,” Patrick Hannan, citing APSunday (30/7/2023).
Likewise with putting up a sign on a building bag, it also requires a Permit. Hananan added that review planning and approval are also required for sign installation. So the city government is now starting to open a complaint and start an investigation.
For your information, Elon Musk bought the application, which is famous for the blue bird, at a price of IDR 44 billion last year. Then the owner of Tesla also started changing the logo to X which started appearing on the website version.
