Investors will see a large number of quarterly results next week. In Amsterdam, this includes figures from beer brewer Heineken, ING and Douwe Egberts parent company JDE Peet’s. Results from abroad are on the roll of, for example, Apple, Uber and Amazon. Furthermore, the important US jobs report will be published and new European inflation figures will be published.

Heineken opens the books on Monday morning, with the focus on sales volumes and price increases to absorb the increased raw material costs. JDE Peet’s is Wednesday’s turn and there will also be an eye for price increases. ING reports figures for the past period on Thursday. For example, the impact of interest rate hikes by central banks on interest income and signals about a weakening economy will be examined.

Other listed companies on the Damrak that provide insight into the quarterly performance include the merger group DSM-Firmenich, information supplier Wolters Kluwer, fertilizer producer OCI, chemical distributor IMCD and biotechnologists Pharming and Galapagos.

Apple and Amazon are on the agenda for Thursday after hours in New York. At Apple, the impact of high inflation on sales of iPhones will be examined, among other things, and online sales and cloud activities at Amazon online store can count on investors’ attention. For Uber, this will include the number of taxi rides and delivery of meals.

Figures are also reported from companies such as mail and parcel delivery company Deutsche Post DHL, oil group BP, pharmaceutical company Pfizer, coffee chain Starbucks, car manufacturer BMW, brewer AB InBev and aviation group Lufthansa.

Preliminary data on inflation in the euro zone in July will be released on Monday, as will an estimate of economic growth in the euro area in the second quarter. The European Central Bank (ECB) raised interest rates last week to combat high inflation.

The US Federal Reserve also announced a new rate hike. The US jobs report will be released on Friday. That report plays an important role in the interest rate policy of the Fed.

The Amsterdam AEX index is now approaching the 800 point mark. The main index at Beursplein 5 closed 0.3 percent higher on Friday at 794.27 points. There were also positives on Wall Street.
