World Cup: summary Norway-Philippines (6-0)
Norway and Switzerland have qualified for the round of 16 of the World Cup.
The Norwegians brushed off the disappointing results from the first two matches with a 6-0 win over the Philippines, Switzerland had enough with a goalless draw against host country New Zealand.

Norway, still without the injured star player Ada Hegerberg, shot off against the Philippines. Sophie Haug proved to be a worthy replacement in the striker with three goals.
The AS Roma striker was in the right place twice early in the game with a high cross. Her first goal had some resemblance to Marco van Basten’s goal in the 1988 European Championship final. Eleven minutes later, Haug again left the Filipino keeper without a chance, this time with the head.
To be sure of qualifying for the next round, the Norwegians had to win by three goals. That margin was reached after just over half an hour. Caroline Graham Hansen shot in the far corner from almost thirty yards.
Own goal and red
Shortly after the break it became even more painful for the Philippines. An own goal from Alicia Barker meant 4-0. Guro Reiten then redeemed a penalty kick after she was knocked down in a promising position.
A red card completed the retreat of the Asian number 46 in the world ranking. Sofia Harrison, who had just come on for the unfortunate Barker, was sent off after a clumsy tackle. In excess, Norway scored once more. Deep in injury time, Sophie Haug made it 6-0 with her third goal.

Switzerland needed a draw to become group winners.
World Cup: Summary Switzerland-New Zealand (0-0)
Just like in the previous game, against Norway, the Swiss kept it 0-0. That was not easy against New Zealand. Annalie Longo was close to scoring on behalf of the host country in the first half, as was striker Jacqui Hand, who shot against the post.
Keeper Gaelle Thalmann kept Switzerland going after the break with a save from Malia Steinmetz’ effort. New Zealand came no closer. For example, despite the first World Cup victory in history, the host country was eliminated after three games.
