Amid the steamy heat with daytime highs approaching 35 degrees in all areas of Jeollabuk-do every day, showers accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected to fall in all areas of Jeollabuk-do on the 31st.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 30th, as of 10:00 a.m. on the same day, heatwave warnings were issued for four cities and counties, including Gunsan, Jinan, Muju, and Jangsu, and a heatwave warning one level higher than that was issued for other 10 cities and counties.
A heat wave warning is issued when the maximum perceived temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius, and a heat wave advisory is issued when the maximum perceived temperature exceeds 33 degrees for two days or more, or when serious damage is expected due to a rapid increase in the perceived temperature or prolonged heat waves.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the highest temperature by region was 34.5 degrees in Jeongeup as of 4 pm on the same day, followed by 34.2 degrees in Gimje, 34.1 degrees in Muju, 33.8 degrees in Sunchang, 33.7 degrees in Jeonju and Gochang, 33.6 degrees in Iksan, 33.4 degrees in Wanju, and 33 degrees in Buan. was in order.
The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that this heat wave would last until the day after tomorrow (August 1) in most of the Jeonbuk region, and that the maximum temperature would exceed 35 degrees in most regions except for mountainous regions.
