Mitsubishi Set to Launch Futuristic SUV at GIIAS 2023 – Featuring Wet Mode and Dynamic Sound

Jakarta

Mitsubishi will launch the latest SUV as a form of mass production from the XFC Concept. The car, which is temporarily called The New SUV, will take the floor at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) automotive exhibition, 10 August.

The New SUV will make its global debut in Indonesia, at GIIAS 2023 to be precise. Mitsubishi has leaked some information about the new SUV competing with the Honda HR-V, Hyundai Creta and Toyota Yaris Cross.

Mitsubishi ensures that the production version of The New SUV will be identical to the XFC Concept, which was previously exhibited in Indonesia. That is, The New SUV will have a futuristic appearance. Mitsubishi also ensures that The New SUV is very suitable for roads in Indonesia.

“I’m sure the Mitsubishi SUV car can fit everywhere in all fields. The New SUV is not for Paris Dakar. This car was developed for the Indonesian market. Indonesia means from Jakarta to the whole. This car has four driving modes, one of which is wet mode. This mode can be adapted to any road,” said Director of Sales & Marketing Division of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) Tetsuhiro Tsuchida.

Guntur Harling, General Manager of Product Strategy Division of PT MMKSI, added that the Wet Mode on The New SUV will be the first feature for Mitsubishi Motors. This feature is useful for rainy weather, especially in tropical regions in ASEAN. Wet mode is able to minimize the possibility of losing control while providing comfortable driving without worrying about roads that are suddenly flooded due to rain.

“Wet mode will be introduced first by Mitsubishi Motors, designed considering the region in ASEAN in general. Wet mode can provide more comfort and a safety feeling for this vehicle,” he said.

Apart from Wet Mode, the other three driving modes are Normal, Gravel and Mud modes. The driving mode can be selected according to the road conditions being traversed.

Four driving modes allow the vehicle to maneuver in various road conditions through integrated control of Active Yaw Control (AYC). The AYC feature improves controllability by adjusting the driving force on the left and right front wheels; traction control, which controls the movement of the tires; machine controls; and power steering control.

Not only that, The New Mitsubishi SUV has Dynamic Sound supplied by Yamaha Corporation as its flagship weapon. Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium is a feature that was first installed in this new SUV. Collaborating with Yamaha, the interior of the vehicle that functions as a listening room will have optimal audio quality. This sound system will not only adjust the sound volume, but also the quality of the sound itself, so that it will continue to produce bass sounds that feel “alive”, and clear tones can be heard, even when the car is driven on a rough road surface.
