Tragedy Strikes: Young Man Carried Away by Current – Recap and Safety Reminder for Summer Activities

The tragedy occurred around 5 p.m. on Saturday. A group of 5 or more young people were spending the afternoon at the river, near Ravine Chaude, when one of them was carried away by the current. His friends couldn’t do anything to save him. Help was called but it was already too late.

Unfortunately, the victim, a 24-year-old Guadeloupean, died at the scene. His body was last heard being recovered by firefighters who had to go through a parallel trail to access it.
