A CRS, a 55-year-old man, killed himself on Friday July 28 around 8:30 p.m., as part of his duties, reports the Pyrénées-Atlantiques prefecture.
Engaged in the company of Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor), this police officer was assigned to the security of the Bayonne Festival. He committed suicide at Cantau high school, in Anglet, when he took up duty. It was in this establishment that his company was housed during the festivities.
Following this tragedy, the prefect of Pyrénées-Atlantiques announced that a “psychological cell has been activated” and that “the company has been relieved of its service for the evening”.
