Electric vehicle owners have reported that their car’s charging ports overheat while charging from the home network. The automaker tried to fix the defect, but to no avail.
Electric vehicle owners Hyundai, Kia and Genesis have filed a class action lawsuit against the Hyundai Group. According to them, the cars charge too slowly due to a defect. About it told on the CarBuzz website.
The lawsuit alleges that some Hyundai, Kia and Genesis electric vehicles have a defect with charging ports. Because of this, they overheat, which leads to an increase in charging time.
The Hyundai Group said that their electric vehicles can be fully charged from the home network in just 5-7 hours. In reality, such indicators are unattainable.
The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. It mentions dozens of owner complaints with video evidence of the defect.
A few months ago, an update was released for electric vehicles that was supposed to fix the problem. In fact, the manufacturer only reduced the charging speed to avoid overheating of the charging ports.
