The European Football Association canceled Juventus’ participation in the European Conference League this season due to financial and accounting irregularities that had already caused the club to not qualify for the Champions League.
Juventus have lost their place in the European Conference League, which will go to Fiorentina in the knockout round starting on August 24.
The European Football Association (UEFA) said Friday that Juventus must also pay a fine of 10 million euros for breaching the rules of financial fair play.
A further €10 million may also be deducted if the club fails to comply with UEFA’s financial control rules in future seasons.
UEFA’s punishment for Juventus had been expected since last season, when the club was deducted 10 points in Serie A.
UEFA said the club’s financial investigators had determined that Juventus had breached the terms of the settlement agreed with the club last year.
