A climber who disappeared in 1986 was recently found dead in a glacier.
The glacier where the body was found is close to the famous Matterhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps.
The discovery of the body is the latest discovery in a series of secrets that have been uncovered as a result of the melting of the glaciers in the Alps in recent years. The case has been discussed by, among others, the BBC.
DNA-analyse
The body was discovered by climbers who were trekking across the glacier, Theodul, in Zermatt earlier this month.
The climbers noticed a hiking boot with crampons sticking out of the ice.
DNA analyzes showed that the dead person was a German man who disappeared 37 years ago, in 1986. The man was 38 years old at the time of his disappearance.
More discoveries
The Theodul Glacier is not the only Swiss glacier to have drastically melted in recent years. Several of the glaciers in the Alps have shrunk markedly.
Almost every summer, the melting of the glaciers leads to the discovery of lost people or things. Last summer, the wreckage of a plane that crashed in 1968 was discovered in the Aletsch Glacier.
In 2014, the body of a British climber who had disappeared in 1979 was discovered from a helicopter. A year later, two climbers from Japan who were caught in a blizzard in 1970 were found.
