Qualified life imprisonment, that is, 40 years in prison before requesting any benefit, Ricardo Neira Arriagada must serve, who was brought to trial by the Ñuble Regional Prosecutor’s Office for the femicide, with the aggravating circumstance of treachery, of Carolina Fuentes Bustos (42 ).
The Third Chamber of the Oral Criminal Court of Chillán unanimously condemned him for the death of the woman who was missing for 95 days, from June 30, 2020 to October 5 of that year, when her body appeared on the shore north of the Ñuble river.
The Regional Prosecutor of Ñuble, Nayalet Mansilla Donoso, highlighted that the court ruled with a gender perspective, since in the trial the prosecutor Álvaro Hermosilla Bustos exposed the situation of permanent violence that the convicted person exerted on the victim and his actions deployed after the death, which involved hiding his body and even implanting false evidence.
