New Affordable Housing Project Announced in Lower Manhattan, New York

New Yorkers will now have more affordable housing in lower Manhattan.

Governor Hochul announced the construction of 12,000 apartments at the Five World Trade Center.

About a third of those units will go toward affordable housing, with a portion of that going to be offered to those affected by the 9/11 attacks.

The construction would be the replacement of the old Deutsche Bank building, damaged by the terrorist attack and later demolished.

Construction will begin next year and will create some 10,000 jobs.
