The discovery was made on July 12 on the Theodul Glacier, which is located south of the tourist town of Zermatt. Mountaineers also liked a shoe and cramponsreports the Swiss police.
DNA testing was done to identify the alpinist. The remains found belong to a 38-year-old man who disappeared in September 1986 while on an expedition. At the time, they searched for him in vain.
