BCCI Plans to Reschedule Matches for ODI World Cup in India

New Delhi: With the ODI World Cup to be held in India months away, the BCCI is all set to change the schedule. The decision came a month after the World Cup schedule was announced. The BCCI has announced that it is planning to reschedule the match following the request of the three-member board of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

“Only the date and time of the matches will be changed. The venues will not change. “If there is a gap of six days between matches, we are trying to reduce it to four to five days,” BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said in New Delhi. He added that changes will be made in consultation with ICC and the final picture will be clear in three to four days. Meanwhile, Jay Shah did not answer the question whether the India-Pakistan match, which is much awaited by the fans, will be rescheduled.

There were reports that the India-Pakistan match that was scheduled to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15 may be postponed. The reorganization is as per the instructions of the security agencies. But as it was the first day of the Navratri festival, security agencies were reportedly asking the BCCI to postpone the match, taking into account the rush hour in the city and the availability of hotel rooms.
