New Film “ESCAPE” by Rodrigo Cortés: Behind the Scenes and Cast Revealed

New pictures from the filming of ESCAPEthe new project by RODRIGO CORTÉS, which is his first film in Spanish since his feature film debut with the black comedy Contestantwhich was followed by the cult hit Buriedstarring Ryan Reynolds.

The film stars MARIO CASAS together with actors and actresses as prestigious as ANNA CASTILLO, JOSÉ SACRISTÁN, JOSEP MARÍA POU, BLANCA PORTILLO, GUILLERMO TOLEDO, JUANJO PUIGCORBÉ, DAVID LORENTE, JOSÉ GARCÍA and the singer-songwriter ALBERT PLA

ESCAPE, produced by Adrián Guerra and Núria Vallsfrom Nostromo Pictures, along with Rodrigo Cortesalso responsible for the script, is a free adaptation of the homonymous novel by the Spanish writer Enrique Rubio and is executive produced by Martin Scorsese.

Filming took place over eight weeks in various locations in Madrid and among the team leaders, Rafa García stands out in the Directorate of Photography (love instead), Ana Alvargonzález in the Artistic direction (Bye black), Víctor Reyes in the composition of the soundtrack (Buried, Love instead) and Alberto Valcárcel in costume design (God’s Crooked Lines, Paradise Hills).

SYNOPSIS

N. is a broken man, something is wrong inside him. N. doesn’t want to make one more decision, just get out of the world. Stop having options. The psychologist he visits doesn’t know how to deal with it, nor does his sister, who tries to support him to no avail. N. just wants to live in jail, and he’ll do whatever it takes to get it. Will his relatives manage to stop him from committing increasingly serious crimes? How far will the judge be able to go to not grant him his decision?

ESCAPE it is an evasion counted backwards. THE COUNT OF MONTECRISTO in reverse, PAPILLÓN in reverse, THE ESCAPE OF ALCATRAZ in reverse. It is the story of a broken man who wants the state to take over his life and take away his freedom once and for all. The film raises questions, as if those who care about him will stop him from committing crimes every time serious and how far the judge can go to not grant your wish.

The film is a co-production of Nostromo Pictures with the French producer The Project, in association with Mogambo and Cosmopolitan TVand with the support of RTVE and Movistar Plus+.

Film Factory is in charge of international sales and Beta Fiction Spain will distribute the film in cinemas in Spain.
