The National Police has arrested a man for sexual harassment of 25 young people between the ages of 13 and 22, 15 of them minors, from 16 Spanish provinces, through social networks. Some facts for which all the victims had to receive psychological treatment and some of them came to self-harm.
The investigation, called Ganímedes, began in December 2020 as a result of a complaint filed by a 14-year-old girl at a Valladolid police station, who, accompanied by her mother, reported that she interacted with a user of a well-known social network, very used by minors.

The detainee posed as a successful young businessman, who after tricking the minor began to request files of sexual content, the Police reported. Once the girl refused to continue sending sexual videos and photos, the stalker threatened to spread the files she had to her family.
The first inquiries made it possible to corroborate the reported data and that the alleged perpetrator was aware of the minor’s age. After months of investigation, the alleged perpetrator was identified and located in a town in the province of Seville, where he was arrested at his home, in which two electronic devices were intervened.
The arrested man was brought before the courts as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of corruption of minors, production of child pornographic material, and threats.

The analysis by agents specialized in cybercrime in Valladolid, which lasted for a year due to the difficulty of retrieving information from one of the two mobile phones when it was found to be unusable, made it possible to detect that the detainee was looking for very young victims, between the ages of 13 and 22 years.
To contact them, he presented himself as a young businessman and tricked them using a job offer as an event escort, for which he offered around 5,000 euros a month, plus what he called “whims”, which consisted of high-speed mobile phones. range or fashion accessories.
Once his victims were seduced, he asked them for files of sexual content, about a hundred photos every three days, which led the minors to a high level of stress if they wanted to reach that number. If they were reluctant or refused, she pressured and coerced them.

A total of 25 victims, between the ages of 13 and 22, residing in different parts of Spain –Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, A Coruña, Tenerife, Las Palmas, Mallorca, Cáceres, Toledo, Pontevedra, Badajoz, Córdoba, have been identified. , Jaén, Burgos and Zamora–, of which 15 are minors and the rest are between 18 and 22 years old.
Several of them have needed psychological treatment, causing anxiety and sleep disorders in some of them, and several have even harmed themselves. After the identification of the new 24 victims, the alleged stalker was arrested again on April 18 and is free with charges.
