Local Painter Pedro Molina Showcases Homage to Art Classics in Mojácar Exhibition

The Mojácar Town Hall has opened the doors, in the La Fuente Art Room, to a painting exhibition run by Pedro Molina, a local painter, resident in Garrucha although born in Turre.

Pedro Molina presents his work in which he pays homage to the great painting classics of all time. Self-taught, a lover of figurative art, he faithfully reproduces the works of the most recognized masters in history, collecting in his brushes not only the mastery, but also the atmosphere and intention of the paintings.

Although he has had moments in which he has been attracted to abstract art and other styles, it is realism that ultimately marks his hand when facing canvases and his definitive path in painting.

Self-taught, reproducing the paintings, according to his words, he continues to learn and is never surprised by the magnitude of details that could go unnoticed just by observing him. He uses oil and all those technical resources that he considers appropriate in each work, giving greater importance to the final result and the expression that he wishes to print in his work.

With a long career working with his brushes, this is the second time he has exhibited in Mojácar, although this exhibition is one of the most important due to the large amount of work presented. Among his favorite painters are Rubens, Velázquez or Vermeer, although many more appear on the special list of his teachers.

The inauguration was attended by the Councilor for Culture, Noemí Linares, accompanied by Jesús Gredilla, María Gracia Alarcón and Ana García, also Councilors in the Mojácar Town Hall. Noemí Linares, showed interest in the work of Pedro Molina and had the opportunity to visit the exhibition with the artist, who expressed his gratitude to the Mojácar Town Hall for the opportunity to exhibit his work in a room with such a good level in terms of guest painters For her part, the Councilor for Culture reiterated the interest of her Department and the Town Hall in making room for local artists, “many of them of great quality” and in continuing Mojácar’s trajectory as a meeting point for creators in all artistic disciplines.

The Pedro Molina exhibition will remain open to the public until August 13. La Fuente Art Center is open from Tuesday to Sunday, in the morning from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the afternoon, it opens its doors from 19 to 22 hours.
