They denounce that an elderly woman was assaulted by a gang of young people in Alamar

Cubans went to social networks to denounce that an old woman was assaulted in the streets of Alamar, in Habana del Este, however, what surprised the community the most was that the perpetrators were young people who did not appear to be more than 20 years old.

“They have just assaulted a lady between the path of zone 12, who goes out to the giant kitchen. She didn’t give time to anything, they yanked her and took her bag with all her documents, her cell phone and a little money. They are ninjas, little boys who are not even 20 years old,” denounced Internet user Laura Goyenechea in a Facebook group for people from that area.

The woman indicated that the old woman could not do anything more than start crying, because she had just cashed her checkbook after having gone through a huge line at the ATMs.

The user claimed that she was able to give the victim a little money, but she knows that this is nothing compared to all that she lost at the hands of the young people.

The publication caused outrage among users, as many were concerned about the well-being of the elderly woman and others about the youth of the Island, which seems to be going down the wrong steps due to the economic crisis in the country.

“Poor lady, she could be her grandmother or her mother. There’s no respect anymore”; “What this country has become… what a horror, what a shame, what a lack of principles and education” and “We are sorry as a society”, were some of the comments.

Others pointed out that not only the youngest on the Island are dedicating themselves to committing crimes, since these types of cases are reported everywhere, being perpetuated even by the oldest in the community.

“It’s not just the 20-year-old boys, the old ones are doing it too. My daughter’s cell phone was snatched yesterday at the Chel roundabout, and he wasn’t a boy. Thank God they didn’t hurt him,” wrote the user Regla García Ferrer.

Many of the comments focused on the absence of the police on the streets, which has allowed these types of crimes to take place in broad daylight.

“You have to go out into the streets with a knife, especially here in Alamar, where you can’t even see the shadow of a police officer” and “You can’t count on the police. They know who are the ones who assault and leave them on the street because they are their informers”, some opined.
