Bram really cares. “I hate having to send her home. I find it hard to do.” He postpones the moment and asks the ladies for space. Madelon finds that difficult. “I’m not going to sit in my own cabin all day.” She and the other love candidate Yamie-Lee go out together to offer him that peace.
The B&B owner is afraid of Madelon’s reaction. “Like I feel unsafe to tell her or something. I don’t feel happy about that, so something has to change.” Now that the ladies are back, he must overcome his fear of disappointing Madelon.
“I’m very much into the vibe that we’re just good friends,” he begins. “But that’s about it. That might be a stupid thing to say, but that’s why I’m not interested. It’s more friendly. I hate to say. If I let you stay longer and keep you on the line for longer, then that’s not fair to you.” Madelon is disappointed. “I would like to give you a tip: open up. You say, “I’d like to be alone.” And I get that, but that’s not what we’re here for. You want to have a woman there, so you should open up anyway.”
Madelon is in tears when she appears on camera. “I think Sweden is fantastic, but I don’t have to live in Sweden with someone who wants to do their own thing 80% of the time and I can be with them 20% of the time.” She notices that Bram is putting up a wall. “At least to me. For himself, I hope he doesn’t do that to the rest, but I doubt that.”
The rejected love candidate does not want to stay a minute longer. “I don’t think I would have stood a chance anyway,” she tells Yamie-Lee, crying. She is looking for Bram to say goodbye. When she finds him, she announces that she is running. “Are you going right now?” he asks in surprise. “Yes, of course. What am I still doing here?” she responds. Bram is happy that she came and wishes her luck in love. “This wasn’t my last hope, you know. I notice I’m a little angry… well, that,” she says in tears.
Madelon hadn’t expected to have to go home so soon. “He indicates all the time that the basis should be friendship, I think: we are working on that, aren’t we? And then he decides, because I probably get too close because I ask certain questions, to close the door already. Well Then I wish you the best of luck.” And so she leaves, back to the Netherlands.
She’s not the only one to say goodbye. Claudia leaves Walter’s spiritual B&B and Jorien leaves Leendert in Belgium. It’s a huge drain on the dating program this week anyway; Cees left Debbie’s place earlier and Jan had to leave Marian’s Portuguese bed & breakfast.
