Suspected Killer of Online Taxi Driver in Semarang Confesses to Robbery Motive
Semarang – The perpetrator of a brutal murder of an online taxi driver in Semarang, Central Java, has been identified as Baghastian Wahyu Kisara (27). The suspect, who is a resident of Karanganyar, admitted that he had intended to rob the victim.
According to detikJateng, Baghastian Wahyu Kisara appeared at a press conference at the Semarang Police Headquarters. He was wearing a blue prisoner’s uniform with the number 15. He calmly explained the chronology of the incident in which he killed Fauzy Aribammar (28).
“Unexpectedly, the victim died,” said Baghastian on Tuesday (25/7/2023).
Baghastian Wahyu Kisara worked for a computer-related company in Semarang and lived in the Lamper area. In the early hours of Monday (24/7), the suspect ordered a taxi from the victim. He had already prepared a knife and threatened the victim with it. However, the victim fought back.
“I stabbed him randomly from behind while sitting,” he said.
He claimed that the victim initially fought back, but the unarmed victim eventually lost.
Confession of a Father in Prison
Baghastian Wahyu Kisara admitted that he became the breadwinner of the family because his father was imprisoned for an ATM skimming case.
“I need money to support my family. My father is in prison for ATM skimming. He is imprisoned in Jogja. My younger sibling doesn’t ask for money, but my mother asked me for help to cover the expenses, if possible, to add to the tuition fees,” said Baghastian during the press conference.
He then thought of robbing someone randomly. He had targeted an online taxi and planned to sell the car online.
“I intended to sell it on the Facebook marketplace for around Rp 15-20 million,” he said.
