Today, Tuesday, Egypt was hit by an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale, without causing any losses.
Dr. Jad Al-Qadi, head of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, announced that the stations of the National Seismic Network recorded an earthquake measuring 5.6 degrees on the Richter scale, 730 km north of Rafah in North Sinai, at exactly 8:44 minutes and 51 seconds on Tuesday morning.
He also added that the tremor occurred at a depth of 17.5 km, at 37.67 degrees north latitude, and 36.04 degrees east longitude, indicating that the institute did not receive any information indicating that citizens felt this tremor or that there were losses in lives and facilities.
Horror tweets
And previous tweets by the controversial Dutch scientist, Frank Hogrebits, about the region’s exposure to a series of new earthquakes, starting from last March 22, had sparked terror at the time, and after that, Egypt was already hit by several earthquakes.
In April, Egypt was hit by a strong earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, and its epicenter was in Greece, 600 km from the city of Salloum in Marsa Matrouh Governorate, north of Cairo, and was felt by the residents of most of the governorates.
And before that, on March 23, the Aswan governorate, in southern Egypt, was subjected to an earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale, as it occurred at 17 km northeast of Aswan, at a depth of 03.0 km.
Last February, Egypt was subjected to 3 consecutive earthquakes, which were felt by residents of some governorates in Cairo, Qalyubia, Suez, Port Said and Ismailia.
The Astronomical Research Institute stated that 3 earthquakes of varying strength were detected, the last of which was of 4.9 and 4.5 degrees on the Richter scale north of Suez, and was preceded by another quake of a weak degree.
