Hwang Seon-woo Makes History with Back-to-Back Medals at Long Course World Swimming Championships

Hwang Seon-woo became the first Korean athlete to win medals twice in a row at the Long Course World Swimming Championships.

Hwang Seon-woo won the bronze medal in the men’s 200m freestyle final held in Fukuoka, Japan with a new Korean record of 1:44:42.

Hwang Seon-woo, who won the silver medal at last year’s Budapest Games, became the first Korean athlete to win medals twice in a row at the Long Course World Championships.

Britain’s Matthew Richards took first place with a time of 1:44.30, Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Tom Dean of England was second with a time of 1:44:32, and Korea’s Lee Ho-jun, who also made the final, took 6th place with a time of 1:46.04.
