New Kia Sorento: Redesigned Exterior, Interior, and Technology Updates

The current version of the Sorento is roughly halfway through its life cycle. The South Korean automaker first showed the car in February 2020 and then presented it with technical details and details in March. The novelty of the time arrived on the Czech market in October of the same year.

At first glance, the rejuvenated Sorento catches the attention of the significantly redesigned front parts, which received new headlights in a shape reminiscent of the letter T, a different radiator grille and a different bumper. The car already boasts the new Kia logo. It is located on the front hood.

At the back, we won’t find such significant changes, the main novelty is represented by modified lamps. Their shape is similar to those before the facelift, but the graphics have changed and the individual segments are now connected.

Kia already offers a look into the interior, in which we can notice a redesigned dashboard with newly designed ventilation outlets – smaller and slimmer. The vacated space was occupied not only by a larger infotainment display, but above all by a touch panel for controlling the air conditioning, media and some other functions. An interesting feature is the driver recognition and authorization system using a fingerprint.

Kia has not yet published information about the news related to technology and engines, but we will probably have to wait for them for a few weeks. The complete presentation of the modernized Sorento should take place in mid-August.

In the Czech Republic, the SUV is available with a four-cylinder turbodiesel 2.2 CRDi (142 kW), as well as a hybrid 1.6 T-GDi HEV (169 kW) and a plug-in hybrid 1.6 T-GDi PHEV (195 kW).
