FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA– PSSI officially appointed the Manahan Stadium in Solo City, Central Java as the venue for the semifinals and final of the U-17 World Cup which will take place in Indonesia.
Ganjar Pranowo’s loyalist, Chusnul Chotimah, said that the determination of the location for the semifinals and final of the U-17 World Cup was proof that the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo cared about Indonesian football.
According to him, this is also proof that the cancellation of the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia some time ago was not because of Ganjar Pranowo.
“Be patient, pret, the semifinals and final of the U-17 Pildun are in Central Java. This is proof that the governor yesterday was not the cause of the cancelation of the U-20 Pildun,” Chusnul said as quoted by Fajar.co.id on his Twitter account, Tuesday (25/7/2023).
Chusnul also satirized the critics who had so far blamed Ganjar for FIFA’s decision to cancel the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
“Your slander has failed miserably,” Chusnul quipped.
Previously, the general chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, confirmed that the stadium would be the venue for the semifinals and final of the U-17 World Cup which will take place in Indonesia.
The two rounds will reportedly take place in Surakarta with two stadiums, namely the Manahan Stadium, to hold the semifinals and final.
“The stadium for the semifinals and final of the U-17 World Cup is in Surakarta. FIFA will be present at the end of the month to check all the proposed stadium facilities,” said Erick Thohir as quoted from the PSSI’s official website.
The former President of the Inter Milan club said that the reason for choosing the Manahan Stadium as the host for the semifinals and finals must be a motivation for the selection participants, especially according to young Indonesian talents who have great potential.
