The famous lawyer Jaime Enrique Granados Peñawho has officiated as defender of the former president Alvaro Uribe in various criminal proceedings, he would have fled the country due to a threat to his security.
The situation was reported by Uribe himself, who on his Twitter account stated on Monday that “Jaime Granados had to leave the country because yesterday while he was entering a pharmacy they persecuted him two people on a motorcycle and with weapons” (sic).
The lawyer has not referred to these facts publicly. It is also not known at the moment if he filed a complaint, or in which city the events occurred, or if it was an attempted robbery or of a plan conceived to assassinate him.
This newspaper contacted sources from the National Police to find out if they knew any information related to the incident, but they stated that they were not aware of it. “We are consulting”they expressed.
Granados has also represented in the stands Santiago Uribe Velezthe brother of the former president, accused of alleged links with paramilitary groups.
