Exceptional Convoys Transporting Wind Farm Masts Pass Through Vallet

Exceptional convoys

Until Friday August 4, 2023 at 6 a.m. (except weekends), 24 convoys will cross the town of Vallet, transporting the masts of the future wind farm of La Regrippière, Vallet and La Remaudière.

By the length of the transported material, up to more than 30 meters long, these convoys are exceptional.

They will punctuate the nights of the capital of Muscadet for ten days.

Passages are scheduled from 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

During a meeting, the municipality of the commune of Vignoble nantais imposed that the passage take place rather at night to limit inconvenience and disruption.

This entrance to Vallet through which the trucks will arrive is indeed a very busy axis.

Between 10,000 and 12,000 vehicles per day use this road which provides access to the Nantes-Cholet dual carriageway.

The exceptional convoys arrive from Saint-Nazaire, the site where the masts and blades of the future six wind turbines of the Haut Vignoble Wind Farm are stored.

They leave the RN 249 at Vallet, before crossing the commune of Vignoble nantais.

From the first roundabout, that of the exit ramp from the national road, to the site, the former Papin company, where the masts are stored and stored, “the whole route has been the subject of scouting”, explains Pascal Paillard, assistant to the city’s roads.

This work made it possible to point out the places where the street furniture and the road signs must be temporarily removed, the time that the convoys can pass.

After the arrival of the masts, the blades of the wind turbines will have to be transported from Saint-Nazaire, where they are still stored.
