United States Imposes Sanctions on Mali’s Minister of Defense and Military Commanders for Ties to PMC Wagner

The United States imposed sanctions on the Minister of Defense and two military commanders of Mali for their interaction with PMC Wagner. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

“The American blacklist includes the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs of Mali, Sadio Camara, as well as the Chief of Staff of the Air Force of this African country and his deputy. All of them are accused of having worked closely with the Wagner Group since December 2021,” Blinken said in a statement. It is specified that those included in the sanctions list will have their assets frozen in the United States and banned from doing business.

Earlier it was reported that the SASH plans to postpone the imposition of new sanctions against Wagner PMCs after an attempted insurgency in Russia. White House officials said they did not want to create an impression of solidarity with one of the parties to the conflict. RT.
