Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, revealed a new logo for the platform, represented by the letter X (X) with a black background, to replace the well-known slogan “The Blue Bird”.
In a tweet Monday morning, platform CEO Linda Iaccarino said, “Here comes X! Let’s do it.”
Even the same process of writing on Twitter “Tweeting” will no longer be called that, according to Elon Musk.
Indeed, Musk changed his Twitter account image, using the new logo, and added “X.com” to his personal profile on the platform.
The American billionaire wants to launch a “super application” called X, which expresses his vision of a new type of social media platform, as Musk has been talking about launching it for months.
Yesterday, Sunday, Musk expressed his aspiration to change the Twitter logo, saying: “Soon we will bid farewell to the Twitter logo, and gradually, we will bid farewell to all birds.”
Then the American billionaire published a picture of the new logo (X) displayed on one of the facades of Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco.
Musk, who changed the company’s name to X Corp, said the replacement “should have been done a long time ago.”
Musk posted a picture of a flashing letter (X) on Twitter, and later in an audio chat via the “Twitter Space” platform, the American billionaire replied “yes” when asked if the Twitter logo would change.
Writing on the platform, Linda Iaccarino said the logo change represented an exciting new opportunity.
“Twitter has made a huge impact, changing the way we communicate,” Iaccarino said.
“X will now conquer new horizons, changing the face of the world stage,” she added.
The bird that became famous as the Twitter logo is called “Larry”.
In 2011, Biz Stone, the platform’s founder, said he chose the name for the bird as a tribute to American basketball legend Larry Bird.
Twitter users regretted changing the iconic logo, including the designer of the same logo in 2012 – Martin Graser.

Since Musk bought Twitter in October 2022, the company has changed its brand name to X Corp.
Twitter says its logo, which depicts a blue bird, is “our most distinctive asset”. “That’s why we’re so protective of him,” he adds.
The company had temporarily replaced the logo, last April, with the image of a dog of the “Shiba Inu” breed associated with the “Dog Coin” cryptocurrency, which helped increase the market value of the digital currency.
Musk was later accused by a group of Dogecoin investors that he profited from the currency’s appreciation.
Twitter was criticized by users and marketers when Musk announced earlier this month that there would be a cap on the number of daily tweets that different account holders could read.
Simultaneously, a competing service, Threads, owned by Meta – Facebook’s parent company – was launched, which had more than 100 million subscriptions within five days of its launch.
The latest complication for Twitter was a lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, that alleged the company owed at least $500m in severance pay to its former employees.
Since Musk bought it, the company has laid off more than half of its workforce.
Obsession with the letter X

The American billionaire has always shown an obsession with the letter X – and no one knows why.
One of his first ventures was in 1999 called X.com, which was an online banking platform.
Just three years later, Elon Musk made a fortune of $165 million when X.com and PayPal were merged and bought by eBay.
Elon Musk also heads SpaceX, a company that specializes in space exploration and space tourism technologies.
But the strangest of all, is the name that Elon Musk gave to his firstborn “X Æ A-12”.
