emotional and passionate that was the show Alma offered this Sunday by bailaora Sara Baras at the Niceto Alcalá Zamora fairgrounds in Priego de Córdoba, an event attended by nearly 800 spectators.
The Cádiz dancer showed his best version throughout almost two hours of show during which flamenco sounds were heard together with traditional and well-known themes, all washed down with the rhythm of the bolero. A careful set design and an excellent staging that captivated those attending one of the most anticipated sessions of the Priego de Córdoba International Music, Theater and Dance Festival, which this year celebrates its 75th edition.
Alma is a production directed by Sara Baras, with music by Keko Baldomero and texts by Santana de Yepes. Together with the artist, they were on stage his corps de ballet, highly applauded by the spectators, formed by Chula García, Charo Pedraja, Daniel Santares, Cristina Aldón, Noelia Vilches and Marta de Troya. The musicians, a fundamental part of this show, were Keko Baldomero and Andrés Martínez, on guitar; Rubio de Pruna and Matía López, El mati, to singing; Anton Suarez and Manuel Muñoz the birdon percussion and Diego Villegas, on saxophone, harmonica and flute.
All of them wrapped up Sara Baras in a night in which the bailaora demonstrated why she has been triumphing on stages around the world for more than three decades. A total of thirteen shows endorse the professional career of this bailaora who still has a lot to say on the stage.
The Priego de Córdoba International Music, Theater and Dance Festival continues this week, with the violin and puppet sonata show Almavera, which will be held in the Aldea de la Concepción on Wednesday, July 26. The turn of the theater will arrive on July 27 and 28 with the representation of the works, Glorious Soldiery The executioner, at the Victoria Theatre; concluding this 75th edition with the concerts offered by Gloria Trevi and Fangoria and the Nancys Rubias, on July 29 and 30, respectively.
