Difficult to walk on the pebbles of the beaches of Nice? No more risk of falling and slightly acrobatic gaits, four beaches in Nice offer a special device for getting out of the water and getting back on the pebble beaches without too much difficulty, in style… And in safety!
Admit it, you too sometimes have difficulty getting out of the water on the pebble beaches of the Côte d’Azur… Like a slightly, let’s say, “heavy” pace… A bumpy gait and sometimes, the shameful fall between the neighbor’s towel and your forgotten flip-flops.
To make your post-bathing life easier (and keep your dignity), the town hall of Nice has installed: a rope!
On four of the city’s beaches, to help bathers get back on the pebbles more easily (and elegantly), rock climbing is now done on the often steep beach!
Installed near lifeguard stations, they also provide safety for swimmers in the Mediterranean.
With the rope, it’s much easier! I explain it to the other swimmers! Without her, I would never have gone up!

The system has been in place since the beginning of July at four sites in the Baie des Anges: Les Ponchettes, Centenaire beach, Blue Beach and Sainte-Hélène:
Until now, only the Centennial beach had this device installed last year.
As before
The system has already proven itself. At the beginning of the 20th century, in front of certain beaches on the Promenade des Anglais, for the safety and well-being of bathers, people were already getting out of the water, rope in hand.

Already on the beaches of Normandy, seaside resorts like that of Trouville offered around 1900 “bathing sessions” where everyone tried to stay upright, clinging to a rope.
They allowed this time to face the powerful waves.
