The Democratic Party of Korea visits the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office in relation to the ‘suspicion of Ssangbangwool Group remittance to North Korea’.
Four members, including Park Chan-dae, the chairman of the Democratic Party’s prosecutorial dictatorship and political oppression countermeasures committee, and the party’s human rights chairman Joo Cheol-hyun, the party’s law chairman Kim Seung-won, and the party lawmaker Min Hyeong-bae, visited the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office at 10:30 am today (24th) to criticize the prosecution’s anti-human rights manipulation investigation and false media play.
They plan to protest that the prosecution is conducting an anti-human rights investigation, such as imprisoning Lee Hwa-young in solitary confinement for nearly 10 months in the process of investigating Lee Hwa-young, former Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province, regarding the ‘suspicion of remittances to North Korea by the Ssangbangbangul Group’, and that they are playing the press with lies.
According to a press report earlier, the prosecution received statements from former deputy governor Lee Hwa-young that “I requested Ssangbang-ul to cooperate in promoting the provincial governor’s visit to North Korea, and the related contents were reported to Governor Lee Jae-myeong,” and “Governor Lee Jae-myung virtually approved the cost of visiting North Korea.”
In response, the former deputy governor refuted through a handwritten letter that the press report that he reported to Lee was not true because he had never asked Ssangbangul to pay for the visit to North Korea.
