A Journey of Creativity and Passion: Sandy Brandauer’s Musical Theatre Seminar at Cine Teatro San Luis

The Cine Teatro San Luis witnessed the magic of art and talent during the four meetings given by the outstanding teacher and dancer. These trainings, aimed at both beginning and intermediate level students, culminated in an exciting joint class this Saturday afternoon.

The space that embraces all the arts was the setting for four magical days, where creativity and passion were intertwined in a formative journey. From April to July, with one class per month, lovers of musical theatre, singing and dancing had the privilege of immersing themselves in a world of unique learning, under the tutelage of the outstanding choreographer and renowned artist, Sandy Brandauer.

From the first day, the atmosphere of the Cine Teatro was filled with enthusiasm and creative energy. Sandy, with her charisma and dedication, led the participants on an enriching journey, sharing her vast knowledge and experience.

“This seminar is an impulse, a seed with which we sow in each of the people who came to the workshop. The idea was for students to realize the tools they have and the ones they don’t have in order to develop them. In this last class we experimented with the musical ‘Cats’, with which I participated in the Argentine version”, specified Sandy Brandauer.

During the seminar, the students learned about vocal, dance and acting techniques, they also explored fundamental aspects related to interpretation. Various axes were addressed, including the alignment and posture of the body, the bone scheme, postural habits, as well as the use of stage space and the relationship with music.

“The seminar was beautiful, it helped us discover new tools and explore the ones we already have. Sandy is an excellent teacher who invited us to grow and unfold our full potential”, expressed Verónica Corbalán, who at 43 years old is studying to teach folklore and already plans to apply this knowledge with her students in the future.

The connection between the participants grew as they shared their dreams and concerns, generating a great camaraderie that grew stronger during each meeting. It was an artistic and personal challenge, where Sandy inspired everyone to push their own limits and express their authenticity in every performance.

“Participating in these meetings was incredible. Sandy’s willingness was great. The fact that these seminars are held in San Luis to promote musical theater, singing and dancing helps a lot to continue growing the province and to empower ourselves as students both internally and externally”, said Celeste Lacombe, 28 years old. “Broadening this horizon is very rewarding and gives me a lot of happiness,” she said.

“I would like to continue with the seminar in the future, although if it did not continue, the students suggested that they could get together or bring more people to continue the classes,” said Brandauer, who explained: “This is a permanent round trip. I work with what the students propose to me and when they make me want to continue advancing, it motivates me much more”.

Upon completion, all artists who attended the seminar during the 4 months received a certificate of training.
