At some point, it finally dawned on me that if you plan to cook a piece of meat or fish in the oven or on the grill, and at the same time you want to get a result that meets your expectations (this is especially true for steaks, entrecote, ham and some types of fish), then you can’t do without a thermometer with a probe to measure the temperature inside the cooked product – this is the only way you will know for sure when the desired readiness comes.
With these thermometers, I went a certain way: first I bought thermometers with protruding probes (for cooking on the grill – still back and forth, for cooking in the oven – it’s not good at all), then I bought thermometers with a short probe that need to be stuck into the piece being prepared (it’s generally a complete crap), then, as a “digital” person, I moved towards fancy wireless probes that transmit information to the application on a smartphone (complete nonsense but, because they constantly fail), and in the end I came to one and only conclusion: all this sucks!
And it doesn’t suck, but what you can and should use is a simple external thermometer and a probe on a long metal wire! And that’s it! This thing is simple, reliable, and most importantly – it will never let you down!
It was only after I purchased this type of thermometer that I began to receive meat and fish cooked exactly the way I needed.
The best option in my opinion is here is a thermometer with a probeworth two kopecks (for an absolutely useless wireless thermometer, which never showed anything normally and constantly lost connection, I paid € 84) from a well-known manufacturer of various thermometers.
