Insight into the Election Campaign of the Young Man from Targovishte and the Controversy Surrounding the BGN 650 Bill in a Varna Restaurant

I think that this is some kind of election campaign of this young man, who we can see as the mayor of that village over there. This was stated to BNT boss Boris Petrov on the occasion of the infamous clip of the man from Targovishte who paid a BGN 650 bill in a Varna restaurant.

“Everything costs money, it’s about us being well informed and having a culture of nutrition and respect for this industry,” he pointed out.

“We heard that there was a little girl working there, but no one heard his version,” recalled Petrov.

He explained the whole process of serving the meat in expensive restaurants with high prices. It is cut in front of the customer and they choose exactly which piece they want, discreetly showing them how much it weighs before it is baked.

“When this meat is cut, then the chef already guesses what roasting point he wants,” Chef Petrov explained.

“The more done he wants it, the thicker the slice is cut. It’s a ritual,” he pointed out.

“I served this meat for the first time in Bulgaria. That was 11 years ago,” he recalled.

According to him, raising the animals for the expensive steaks in question is a whole science. “Some of these animals massage themselves with beer, drink beer,” he said.

Chef Petrov also commented on the behavior of the man from the clip – Plamen Hristov. He recalled that other meals were included in the bill. “And BGN 10 for the waitress to be happy,” he commented.

“His wife is a good operator. He photographed everything, he photographed it well,” said the chef. According to him, the man is preparing for an election campaign.

“Fundamentally, food and tourism are an industry. People must be educated, as well as the staff. A waiter is the face and tells the concept of the restaurant. When you have an expensive meat, the service itself is like a ritual. The more grilled steak you want, the bigger a piece is cut off, so that you don’t end up being given a flip-flop,” said Chef Petrov.

“There are restaurants in Bulgaria that are on a European and world level. The moment you cross the threshold of the restaurant, you enter into a contractual relationship with it. The restaurant can also file a lawsuit for damage to the good name,” commented Rumen Draganov from the Institute for Analyzes and Forecasts of the Information Environment in Tourism.

“Let us say the good things about the sea with the same passion. I have the feeling that we are making Bulgarians hate their sea,” said the famous chef.
