A boy under the age of 18 was found on Saturday with serious gunshot wounds in the district of Nyfors in Eskilstuna in Sweden, Swedish police report.

The police rushed to the scene after receiving several reports of loud bangs in the area. No one has yet been arrested in the case.

– We are still in a hunting phase, and we are working with the investigation in parallel. We have also set up roadblocks and are trying to get crime scene technicians to the scene as quickly as possible. We have also taken certain people in for questioning, says police spokesperson Magnus Jansson Klarin The evening paper.

It happens the day after a man in his 20s was killed in the same city. The man was hit by several shots, and according to the police, witnesses in the area heard that at least ten shots were fired. There were bullet holes in both a car and a building near where the man was found.

The police are now investigating whether there is a connection between the two shooting incidents.

– It is a bit early to say now, but we suspect that there is a link to the conflict environments we currently have. Whether it has a connection with yesterday’s shooting or is an isolated incident is too early to say now, says Jansson Klarin.
