Tank repair center opened in Poland

Despite disagreements between Germany and Poland regarding the cost of repairs, the service has started work, and has already received two tanks for repairs.

A service center has started operating in Poland, where Ukrainian Leopard tanks will be repaired. This was announced on Saturday, July 22, by Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak on Twitter.

According to him, the first tanks have already arrived for repairs.

“The overhaul center in Gliwice is up and running! The first two Leopards have already arrived from Ukraine at the Bumar plant,” he wrote.

Recall that two weeks earlier it was reported that Germany refused to create a tank repair center in Poland. The reason for this decision is the increased price expectations on the part of the Polish side, media reported.

Earlier, Der Spiegel magazine reported on the differences between Berlin and Warsaw on the project. According to him, the implementation of the project was hindered by the Polish side. In particular, according to media reports, the state company PGZ wanted to charge more than 100 thousand euros for the so-called primary review of equipment, while in Germany such a service costs about 12 thousand euros.
