Wang Yi expressed that China-Kenya cooperation has achieved fruitful results and is at the forefront of China-Africa cooperation. As Kenya’s comprehensive strategic cooperative partner, China maintains continuity and stability in its policy towards Kenya, always adheres to equality and mutual trust, and firmly supports Kenya in safeguarding national sovereignty and independence and following a development path that suits its national conditions. The Chinese side is willing to, together with the Kenyan side, take the opportunity of celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries to further deepen the traditional friendship between China and Kenya, strengthen the integration of all-round strategies, intensify mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and join hands to meet challenges and achieve common development. China supports Kenya in playing a greater role in regional and international affairs, and is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Kenya to safeguard the common interests of developing countries.
Mutua said that Kenya-China friendship is not an expedient measure, but a long-term strategic choice of mutual benefit and win-win results. The Kenyan side will never forget China’s support and help when Kenya is facing difficulties and challenges, and is willing to deepen cooperation with China in areas such as trade, investment, agriculture, medical care, infrastructure construction, and addressing climate change, so as to promote greater development of the Kenya-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
