Eligible for a huge contract extension, Jaylen Brown has yet to sign his extension with the Celtics. Discussions have even been put on hold in recent days, with JB leaving the United States for Europe. But they should resume next week according to the Boston Globe.
In Spain for a few days to assume his responsibilities as vice-president of the players’ association (NBPA), Jaylen Brown is back in Boston. He was notably seen on the side of Dorchester, the largest district of the city, to participate in the decoration of a basketball court with the local community. And as of next week, JB will reconnect with his Celtics franchise to discuss his contract extension, which is still pending.

As a reminder, Jaylen Brown is eligible for an extension of up to $304 million over five years, which would represent the biggest contract ever signed in the NBA. According to the latest news, the franchise and the player want to continue the adventure together, but details remain to be settled before finally reaching an agreement.
Details which could in particular concern the presence of a player option over the last year, and other minor elements which usually accompany negotiations. In short, nothing that should derail the discussions, and the extension of Jaylen Brown seems above all to be only a matter of time. Moreover, in view of JB’s increasingly strong involvement with the Boston community, it is hard to see him wearing a jersey other than that of the Celtics in the future.
The two camps have until October to find common ground.
