Extremist Group Burns Qur’an in Front of Iraqi Embassy in Denmark

An extremist group burns a copy of the Qur’an in front of the Iraqi embassy in Denmark

A Danish far-right anti-Islam group burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen.

On Friday, Anadolu Agency reported that the members of the group, which calls itself the “Danish Patriots” (Danish Patriots), raised anti-Islamic banners and chanted slogans insulting to it.

The group’s supporters threw the Iraqi flag and the Qur’an on the ground and stepped on them. They also broadcast the attack that targeted the Qur’an live, through the group’s account on the Facebook platform.

The group said it carried out the attack in protest of the attack on the Swedish Embassy in Baghdad.

The group carried out its attack amidst strict security measures taken by the police.

It is noteworthy that the group had previously attacked the Quran and the Turkish flag in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen.

Yesterday, Thursday, Silwan Momica tore up a copy of the Qur’an and the Iraqi flag in front of the Baghdad embassy in Stockholm, in a second incident for the same person after the first in late June, after the Swedish authorities allowed him to target Muslim sanctities.

On Wednesday/Thursday night, groups of supporters of the Sadrist movement stormed the Swedish embassy in Baghdad, in protest against the attacks targeting the Holy Quran, and set fire to some of its sections.
