Right to Dream took the lead against Mjällby AIF in the semi-finals of the Gothia Puma Trophy through Levy Nene, but the Listlanders came back. Liam Svensson equalized to 1-1 before the end of the first half.
The score stood for a long time, but with just seconds left in the game, the Ghanaians were awarded a penalty. Levy Nene, 17, stepped up from eleven meters and scored the decisive goal.
– It was a very good match. It was tough, but we managed to win. Mjällby was good defensively, but we solved it and made it through to the final, says Nene to Fotbollskanalen.
The winner between AIK and Colombian Deportivo Cali now awaits in the final. That semi-final will be played on Friday evening.
– It feels fantastic. The last time we were in the final we won 5-1, so we’ll just recharge for the final. I think it will be a good match, says the 17-year-old.
Right to Dream has gone undefeated through the tournament and if they are victorious in the final as well, they have secured the title for the fifth year in a row in the Gothia Puma Trophy.
