Libreville, Friday July 21, 2023 (Gabon Info) – The two foundations have just organized a seminar in Libreville with a view to developing Gabon’s agricultural potential.
Gabon has a rich agricultural potential that simply needs to be developed. This is the main message that emerges from a seminar organized in Libreville by the Omar Bongo Ondimba and EdenLife foundations against the high cost of living. For four days, no less than 500 participants took part in the various workshops whose objective was to lay the foundations of an agriculture that should free Gabon from external dependence by reducing imports. “This seminar responds to the concerns of the country’s rulers, asking young people not to sit down but to seek to learn a trade. We, like the Omar Bongo Ondimba Foundation, advocate peace, the environment and science. So who says agriculture, says environment. This is why this training seminar is being held,” explained Léa Dabany, president of the EdenLife Foundation.
The mayor of 3e arrondissement of Libreville, present at the opening of the work, said it was honored by the theme addressed, which constitutes the main source of life for the populations. ” JI am honored to be here, because Agriculture is a sector that promotes the country’s economy but also the sector of activity that will allow us to achieve food self-sufficiency. We must guide young people towards trades that revolve around the green economy,” said Jeanne Ngombele.
