Convoys for Reproductive Health and Family Planning Organized in Assiut Villages

Major General Essam Saad, Governor of Assiut, said that convoys for reproductive health and family planning are being organized in 20 villages in the Manfalout Center, starting tomorrow, Saturday, July 22, until Monday, July 24, 2023. To provide family planning and reproductive health services to targeted women in underserved areas, to meet the unmet needs in those areas, and to target hot districts with low population indicators and poor villages affiliated with the Presidential Initiative, A Decent Life.

He pointed to the coordination with the Directorate of Health and Population to intensify these convoys and expand the scope of their services in all villages in the centers of the governorate, with a focus on the disadvantaged areas, within the framework of the governorate’s keenness to provide free and quality family planning and reproductive health services in the deprived and densely populated areas.

The governor of Assiut, the head of the center and city of Manfalut, and the heads of the village units, directed to facilitate the work of the convoys to achieve the desired goals, pointing out that these convoys come within the framework of efforts to improve family planning indicators such as the rates of use of family planning methods and reproductive rates and to support the development of Egyptian women socially and culturally to raise their awareness and enable them to exercise their rights.

Dr. Muhammad Zain al-Din Hafez, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Assiut, explained that a convoy for reproductive health and family planning will be implemented in the Manfalout Center from July 22 to July 24, 2023, with the participation of 4 mobile clinics to provide family planning services, advice, follow-up of work and childbirth, in addition to the implementation of mobile teams in fixed units, with the provision of 2 gynecologists to deal with referral cases for the installation of Implanon capsules and IUDs to meet the needs of the target audience in these villages.

He noted that on Saturday, July 22, the convoy begins its work through fixed clinics in the villages of Naza Qarar, Rumaih, the Health Office, Bani Shuqair and Bani Rafie, and through mobile clinics in the villages of Abu Abed, Al-Sahrej and Umm Al-Qusour, in addition to an awareness seminar in the village of Naza Qarar, and on Sunday, July 23, through a seminar in the village of Bani Uday Al-Qibliya, and the fixed clinics in the villages of Bani Sanad, Mandara, Bani Adai Al-Qibliya, the Health Office, Al-Hawatkeh, and mobile clinics in the villages of Sukkara and Bani Uday marine and Jahdm.

The convoy concludes its work on Monday, July 24, 2023, by organizing an awareness seminar in the village of Bani Majd, providing family planning services in the fixed clinics in the villages of Sarada and Bani Majd, the Health Office and Atamna, and mobile clinics in the villages of Arab Al-Amayem, Bani Shaaran and Al-Azziyah, pointing out that the convoy takes place under the supervision of Dr.
