Fable’s technology uses several AI models at the same time, they themselves sign Github. A Large Language Model (LLM – the same type ChatGPT) is used to write dialogues. Even the voices are done with AI.
Diffusion models (such as Stable Diffusion) are used to create images. These models add random noise to images, and then remove the noise that doesn’t fit. A beginner can easily create beautiful images with such tools, but it is more difficult to create multiple images that fit together – like a movie.
Finally, Fable uses a model of its own to create consistent characters, plot, and behavior patterns. Even the editing of the film is automatic.
“Can create entire seasons”
The full episode created by Fable can be seen on their Github-page. The episode is as long as a real South Park episode, and the visuals and voices are eerily similar. Fable also writes that they believe they can create entire seasons with their tools.
Fable did not contact the South Park producers before making the sim movie, according to The Guardian. They are also said to have developed a tool that allows users to create short South Park clips through short commands with suggested actions.
